With an engineering degree transforms into undergraduate engineering (ST), the clearer the status of engineering graduates. Engineering degree (ST) is an academic degree, while engineers are professional title. To obtain a degree engineer (profession), a graduate degree in engineering should follow the profession of education held by the Association of Engineers Indonesia (PII).
Now, an engineering degree can be owned by anyone, not limited to the bachelor of engineering, on conditions that are already working in the field of engineering to do dayaguna, added value and its preservation.
As one pilot, to the east of Java that provide education specifically for the title of the engineering profession, PII has been working with universities ITS ( Institute of Technology Surabaya) and Brawijaya Universities Malang. By the time education for 60 hours and carried out before graduation, certificate of professional title of engineer can be obtained in conjunction with graduation.
The program is planned to be set out in Executive Leadership Meeting in Jakarta and East Java PII designated as a pilot project providing education profession.
